Built by Our Community, Built for Their Future.
OUR CLUB
For more than four decades, Boys & Girls Clubs of Manteca and Lathrop has created a place where young people can belong, discover what they’re capable of, and build the skills and confidence to shape their future.
A Place to Belong
Since 1982
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Manteca and Lathrop was founded by local community leaders and service clubs who believed in the power of young people. Thanks to their vision and the generosity of our community, including a major contribution from Antone Raymus and the volunteer efforts of local tradespeople led by Don Stewart, the original clubhouse at 545 W. Alameda Street was built by the community, for the community.
We opened our doors in January 1982 and have been proudly serving local youth ever since.
A History of Impact
1980–1982
Local community leaders rallied around the idea of creating a safe, positive place for Manteca youth. Antone Raymus provided significant seed funding, while local tradespeople volunteered their time to help build the clubhouse at 545 W. Alameda Street.
1982
The Club begins serving Manteca youth at its West Alameda Street home, starting more than four decades of continuous service to local young people.
1994
Jon Cardoza and Monica Perez are named Manteca Youth of the Year. Cardoza would later return to the Club as a staff member and ultimately serve as Director of Operations.
2001
The Manteca facility is named the Crutchfield Center in recognition of Chuck Crutchfield’s service to the Club and local youth.
Today
Under the leadership of CEO Sara Young, the Club is refreshing its Manteca facility, expanding programming and building new community partnerships while continuing its more than four-decade commitment to local youth.
OUR MISSION
To inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens.
Different Generations. The Same Place to Belong.
From one generation to the next, the Club has been a constant - where kids can be kids, find their people, and build a brighter tomorrow.
